La Femmes: Who We Are

We are happy to invite you to be a member of our organization.

La Societe de Femmes is a fraternal organization composed of female members 18 years of age or older. It is a non-political and non-sectarian organization. Our members are called Dames, our meetings are Rendezvous, our official headgear is the Beret, and our officers all have French titles. Organized by three main parts; La Cabane Nationale (the National level), La Grande Cabanes (State level), and La Cabane Locale (local level). Our objectives are to support and assist the Veterans Organization of La Societe des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux, also known as the 40 et 8.

*When the dues provide the first graders with U.S. Flags!!
*When the dues buys clothes, shoes, and coats for kids who lost all of their things in a fire!
*When a homeless Veteran gets a safe place to live after giving so much and asking for so little.
*When a woman or a man chooses nursing for a life’s occupation and dues buys their books!
*When each of us can tell our friends how wonderful it is to be a member of such a fine organization that helps so many who need it.
*When our children and grandchildren see us helping others and learn to do the same.
*When a young athlete can afford to participate in their favorite sport because dues helped fund the program and purchase uniforms and supplies.
*When a victim of Hansen’s Disease has their prayers answered and the cure is within their reach.
*When a family of a POW/MIA soldier realizes a dream come true as a scholarship comes into their lives and someones dream comes true of achieving an education.
*When clowns visit hospitals and nursing homes to bring cheer to the patients.

It’s all personal and it’s a small amount of money compared to the kindness it gives! We have fun and do much, much, more …..
